This website is designed by the Department for the History of the Early and High Middle Ages and Auxiliary Sciences of History at the Christian-Albrechts-Universität zu Kiel.

Among other things, our department has a special focus on the study of medieval hagiography (current project: Transience and Eternity. Confrontations and entanglements of different semantics of time in medieval afterlife journeys) and Auxiliary Sciences. The sourcebook thus combines two central aspects of our work.
